‘Quarantinecation’, 2020
This video installation was made in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the quarantine/shelter-in-place ordinances. The video was projected onto the walls of my shower, to be viewed while in the bathtub. By compiling footage of live music performances and crowds layered with footage of natural landscapes, the viewer can have a vacation from social distancing and isolation vicariously through video while relaxing in the tub. All footage was shot by me and features musical artists Robert Glasper, Rising Appalachia, Rabbi Joe Black, Merrien Brown, Grayson Fordyce, Y La Bamba and more. The intention for this piece was to provide a mashup of live music and group settings for the eyes of those in shelter-place solitude.
